Search in Temporal Domains
نویسنده
چکیده
Best-rst search algorithms have been widely used to nd a minimum cost path in graph search. To formulate certain problems involving temporal events, it is at times instrumental to use graphs whose edge costs are time-dependent. In such a graph, shortest paths are dependent on time at which traversal in the graph begins. Typically, structural changes in t occur at discrete points in t, where t is the shortest path with start time t. In this paper, a best-rst algorithm is generalized to handle time-dependent graphs to nd shortest paths together with their start time characteristics and some properties of the algorithm are investigated.

Improving Search Using Indexing: A Study with Temporal CSPs
Most studies concerning constraint satisfaction problems (CSPs) involve variables that take values from small domains. This paper deals with an alternative form of temporal CSPs; the number of variables is relatively small and the domains are large collections of intervals. Such situations may arise in temporal databases where several types of queries can be modeled and processed as CSPs. For t...
متن کاملPlanning with Problems Requiring Temporal Coordination
We present the first planner capable of reasoning with both the full semantics of PDDL2.1 (level 3) temporal planning and with numeric resources. Our planner, CRIKEY3, employs heuristic forward search, using the start-and-end semantics of PDDL2.1 to manage temporal actions. The planning phase is interleaved with a scheduling phase, using a Simple Temporal Network, in order to ensure that tempor...
متن کاملExtending the Use of Inference in Temporal Planning as Forwards Search
PDDL2.1 supports modelling of complex temporal planning domains in which solutions must exploit concurrency. Few existing temporal planners can solve problems that require concurrency and those that do typically pay a performance price to deploy reasoning machinery that is not always required. In this paper we show how to improve the performance of forward-search planners that attempt to solve ...
متن کاملOptimal temporal planning using the plangraph framework
The past few years have seen a rapid development in AI Planning and Scheduling. Many algorithms and techniques have been studied and improved to deal with more complex and difficult planning domains. One such innovation was Graphplan, first developed by Blum and Furst in 1995 and soon became one of the best approaches for optimal classical planning systems. Planning systems that use Graphplan’s...
متن کاملDomain-independent temporal planning in a planning-graph-based approach
Many planning domains have to deal with temporal features that can be expressed using durations that are associated to actions. Unfortunately, the conservative model of actions used in many existing temporal planners is not adequate for domains which require more expressive models. This paper presents a temporal planning approach that combines the principles of Graphplan and TGP and uses the in...
متن کاملAn Approach to Temporal Planning and Scheduling in Domains with Predictable Exogenous Events
The treatment of exogenous events in planning is practically important in many realworld domains where the preconditions of certain plan actions are affected by such events. In this paper we focus on planning in temporal domains with exogenous events that happen at known times, imposing the constraint that certain actions in the plan must be executed during some predefined time windows. When ac...
